FIRSTPAY CUSTOMER CENTERFIRSTPAY.NET Support Existing Merchants: 1.888.299.6999 When an e-commerce website is reviewed by EMG's Credit Department, it will receive either an approval or a conditional approval. Most established e-commerce accounts that are simply switching to EMG will receive an approval because they have the infrastructure already built around the shooping area. However, since most new e-commerce sites need time to finish building their website, they will receive the conditional approval to allow them time to set up their payment gateway and fully test transactions. Once the e-commerce website is up and running, our Credit Department will go to the website and verify that it contains the following: Refund PolicyThe Refund Policy of every website will vary depending on the products and services offered. Some companies may have a 100% refund policy while others may have an ALL SALES ARE FINAL policy. EMG does not insist that a merchant's website issue refunds but it is important to have the Refund Policy available to prospective customer's who can understand what happens after they have purchased the respective product and/or service from the website. In instances where a cardholder is disputing the charge from a website originated transaction, the Refund Policy is one of the only keys that the EMG Chargeback Department can refer back to for assistance in defending the sale. Privacy PolicyAs a courtesy to our FirstPay.Net customers, EMG offers some helpful suggestions on what a Privacy Policy should contain. Although the SAMPLE PRIVACY POLICY may not match your exact website needs, it should provide you with a simple guide of things to consider when drafting your own Privacy Policy. Another recommendation is to find a similar website (both size and product/service) and review their Privacy Policy to be sure that you have not missed anything. Secure Shopping CartIn today's e-commerce society, data security is vital to the website. Before a merchant account can be approved, the shopping cart must be secure as is indicated in the URL address that begins with HTTPS://. It is recommended that you obtain a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption certificate from one of the many providers on the Internet. Matching Contact InformationWhen setting up an e-commerce site, it is vital that customers have a way to contact the website adminsitrator for questions. EMG requires that two pieces of contact information on the website match what we have on our copy of the Merchant Application and Agreement. The matching items need to be two of the following; address, phone number, or e-mail. Removal of eBay ReferencesDue to the high risk involved with sales made through auction houses like eBay, EMG requests that all credit card payments for sales completed through eBay (or similar auction sites) not be procesed through your EMG merchant account. As a precaution, EMG stipulates that the eBay trademark be removed off of the website before the conditional approval can be released. |
